It is important for leaders to understand that in this rapidly changing world the one thing that is important is the need to deal with ambiguity. Strategic leaders must have this ability. They must also have skills related to the conceptual, interpersonal, and technical realm. Each of these skills is relevant to the mindset of a global leader. Conceptual skills are important because it is important to understand strategic thinking and the overall plan and direction. Technical skills are important because a leader can utilize technical skills to reduce resources and communicate better with others. Interpersonal skills are important because one must either relate to others well or hire others that do. All three of these aspects are important to being a leader. Most leadership books are written on one or all of these areas. Papers or discussions should address some aspect of being a leader with a global mindset. Leaders must be able to assess the social, political, economic, legal, intercultural or technological issues associated with the internal or external part of their organization. Once they have assessed the environment, then they must be able to have a vision that will address the needs of their organization. Furthermore, it is important to understand adult learning to help others understand how goals can be accomplished in the organization.

 Management

Managers must make a paradigm shift from issues that are local to those issues which contain elements of global importance. There are no longer any local issues. All issues—even at the managerial level have elements of international importance. All of us should be familiar with theoretical frameworks which address issues faced by all managers. Papers submitted should explain issues related to being a manager and present a theoretical framework which we can all use to address this issue. Papers and discussion should address issues of information systems, SWOT analyses (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats), SPELIT analyses, (Social, political, economic, legal, intercultural and technological aspects of the internal and external environment), global information systems, small business operations, health care administration, educational leadership and public policy. Strategic management is also important as managers must have both short and long term plans. Managers as well as leaders must have IQ Intelligence Quotient, EQ Emotional Quotient and MQ a Moral Quotient.
