Bruce Maxwell est professeur au département d'administration et de fondements de l'éducation de l'Université de Montréal. Éthicien et philosophe de l’éducation, ses recherches portent sur le droit et l’éthique en éducation et le développement éthique dans les professions. Ses travaux en cours portent sur la sensibilité éthique chez les enseignants et la posture professionnelle et les droits des enseignants dans le contexte de l’enseignement sur les questions sensibles. Il intervient dans la formation des futurs enseignants sur les thèmes de l'éthique enseignante, les approches en éducation éthique et le volet « éthique » du programme d’éthique et culture religieuse.
